CNE Networking Event

CNE Networking Event

On 28 November, the Centre for Nerve Engineering hosted its first Networking Event. Our aim was to bring together the communities across UCL and UCLH who work in the many areas relevant to nerve engineering. The event comprised two hour-long talk sessions, with posters and refreshments in between. We were delighted to host talks spanning neuromodulation, cell biology, immunology, medical imaging, tissue engineering, mathematical modelling and drug discovery! The full list of speakers is given below, alongside some photos of the event. Many thanks to everyone who came along!

Kristjan Jessen Why do Repair Schwann Cells Fail?

James Phillips Using Cells, Drugs and Tissue Engineering to Repair Nerves

Ivana Drobnjak Microstructure Imaging of Nerves with Diffusion MRI

Simon Walker-Samuel Imaging and Simulating Tissue Microstructure

Nader Saffari Ultrasound-Mediated Neuromodulation in the Peripheral Nervous System

David Holder Imaging Fascicular Activity in Nerve with Electrical Impedance Tomography (EIT)

Gareth Williams The Hydrogel that Jack Built

Becky Shipley Mathematical Modelling for Nerve Tissue Engineering

Sunthar Mahalingam On Novel Advanced Forming for Nerve Tissue Engineering

Ashleigh Boyd Immunological Considerations and Strategies for Nerve Repair

Jess Healy Kinetic Target Guided Synthesis as a Tool for Chemical Biology and Drug Discovery
